10.06.2011: Flight tracks Live
Since last weekend we offer you live flight tracks.
Because of technical reasons we can't present it in all regions, but we try to become constantly better.

Please read the explanation in menu 'About'.
You find the link to the live application on the Europe map (for complete Europe), each country map (for this country)
and in the region menu of each airport with the needed technique.
In the moment these are:

- Amsterdam
- Athinai

- Braunschweig
- Châteauroux
- Dortmund
- Genf
- Frankfurt
- Marseille
- Paris (Ile de France)
- Pontoise-Cormeilles
- Saarbrücken
- Salzburg
- Zürich
12.02.2011: WW-EANS Foundation
Today, the WW-ANS (Worldwide Aircraft Noise Services) network started.
18.10.2010: New Software
At midnight we installed a new software.
All programmes which handle noise-graphs and noise statistics are new,
because our quick growth in Europe demands a lot of new features.

The "flight track" part remains unchanged.
What's new ?

- Now we present 3 Zoom-Levels

The highest resolution works with the European standard of
1 sec.

- Upper-/Lower Limit

In the whole-day graph 1 pixel represents 1 minute, therefore we show the
average of this minute.

But this produces in some cases a wrong impression.

Therefore we show additionally two dotted lines with the maximum
and the minimum in this minute.

- Protected Night

In a lot of regions the airport must observe special operating rules
in a part of the night.
To monitor these conditions we can configure additionally to the standard day periods (day, evening, night)
a so-called "Core Night" which is coloured in dark blue.

- Superimposing

The superimposing of up to three stations is now
possible also in the whole-day view.

- From Noise to Flight Tracks

The quick link from noise to flight tracks is also available in the whole-day view.

- Yearly Statistic

We add a yearly statistic with the option to analyse only the 6 month with the most traffic.

- Complaint Function

The deletion of wrong selected overflights has a better handling.
Please refer to
Explanation
and
How to send an aircraft noise complaint for more details.

In the moment the new texts are only available in English.
Please help us with the translation of the two files Explanation and How to send an aircraft noise complaint to your language.
15.09.2010: New Server
Our timetable says: On Friday (17.09.2010) our new server goes online.
Since we get a new IP-address, our experience says that it needs up to 2 days
until all worldwide name-servers have our new IP in their databases.
During this period our server is offline.
We not install only a new hardware, we also go the first step of a software renewal.
May be that some minor bugs appear.
Our request to you is:

- Please do not send mails to us if you don't can access our websites in the time from Friday to Sunday.
This is a normal procedure in the case of a new IP-address.

- If our server is available again and you detect a bug
please send a mail to us.

In this case describe the problem as exact as possible:
What do you do and what is the response of our system?

- For station owners:
In this time your station can't send data to us.

This is also normal. Please check your station if our server is online again.
The theory says: Everything should work automatically.
But in case of troubles please use first the standard "therapy":
Stop the system, power off, wait some seconds and start the system again.
Technical data of our new server:

| CPU power: | 12 processor kernels (2 GHz, 64-Bit) |
| RAM: | 16 GB |
| Hard disks: | 3 x 750 GB RAID5 (1,5 TB usable) |
On our general meeting on the 29th of October we inform you of our new developements and the next steps in the future.
01.07.2010: Holiday Time
Our technical support is not available until 16.07.2010.
The experience says, that we have in 2 weeks a large amount of incoming emails.
We are not able to answer them all in one single day.
But if you receive no answer until 23.07. your mail is lost in
the huge amount of the daily spam.
If this happens, please send your mail a second time.
Regards,
your technical support team
03.01.2010: UK online
Today the first region in Great Britain (Edinburgh) goes online. In the first step
we have no noise measurement stations, but only flight-tracks.
09.06.2009: Holidays
Our webmaster stays in holidays from tomorrow (10.07.2009) until 26.07.2009.
Please show understanding, that we answer mails in this time not before 27.07.2009.
Our experience is: A lot of mails would arrive in these two weeks - so it needs some days until all mails are answered.
18.09.2008: New Server / All-Clear
Since today 16:15 o'clock the FTP-problem is solved.
First checks confirmed that no data loss appeared.
The DFLD team says 'Thank you' for your patience.
16.09.2008: New Server / Troubles
In the night from the 15th to 16th of September at 1:30 the "anonymous FTP access"
failed.
Why? We don't know it in the moment.
The service team of our provider try to find the reason.
The Consequences:
Only the professional measurement stations are affected. They are not able to transmit
data to our server (the low cost equipment works with another FTP-access).
We expect no data loss, because the professional systems have a build in
memory (enough for more than 1 year).
In the moment we have no informations, when this problem is solved.
Please excuse this malfunction.
15.09.2008: New server is online
It took some doing - but now our new server is online:
4 CPU's á 2.3 GHz are working with
8 GB RAM and a
1 TB harddisk
This should be enough for the next weeks :-)
11.09.2008: What a disgrace (Topic: New Server)
Our provider tried four times to change our server - and four times he failed.
In the moment he is not able to give us a time-schedule for the next steps.
Therefore the upgrade to a faster server must wait some days, weeks, years, ...
27.08.2008: New Server
In the next days we upgrade our server.
Unfortunately we get a new IP-address during this upgrade!
We expect that the measurement-stations have some troubles
with the data-transfer to our server in this period!
In theory after a time everything should work properly without any manual intervention.
Please check your stations in the next time and inform us in the case
of unrecoverable errors.
09/09/2005: EANS Foundation
Today, the EANS (European Aircraft Noise Services) network was founded.
The EANS network is a union of several European organizations with the aim to make information about aircraft noise transparent.
- We measure aircraft noise where people live.
- We ensure transparency, by publishing and archiving the measured values in the World Wide Web.
- We inform about the consequences of aircraft noise load.
- We supply solid arguments in the fight against aircraft noise all over Europe.
- With our system, we supervise the European airports and we demand for a European-wide night flight prohibition.
- Our data prove that all over Europe night rest is disturbed by aircraft noise.
